New Eden Gardens


The New Eden Collaborative of First Parish Church brings together individuals, families, and organizations in a mission to model an environmentally and ethically sustainable Community.The Gardens were designed to give participants the skills and satisfaction that growing crops in an environmentally sustainable manner with other gardeners brings.  Alternatives to synthetic fertilizers, pesticides and herbicides are incorporated and our practices are guided by National Organic Standards.

This was a productive year and wonderful food was produced by member gardeners.  A percentage of food grown here is donated to the First Parish Church Food Pantry.

Highlights include:

  • Seed and seedling swaps
  • Seed saving and other how to information
  • Communal Berry Picking and lettuce growing in shady area
  • A gleaning program to enable donations of excess produce
  • Mentoring of new gardeners
  • Garden parties
  • Continued bee hive activity

The Cost of renting a garden plot is:

Small plot $65                               Large plot $155    contact  or Adam Kowal,  to reserve a plot for the 2019 growing season.
