Burial Ground Restoration Initiative

A committee of Parishioners and community members restored this sacred and historical site (see the article).

In addition to mowing, stone cleaning, tours and stone stabilization, the committee received a grant from the Newbury Cultural Council and has almost completed the repair of broken fencing with this grant money.

The Essex Heritage Foundation gave a grant which allowed the church to remove an ailing tree from the cemetery (photos of the process shown below).

Assistance and donations to support the church’s efforts are always welcome.

The photos are of the removal of a large ash that was dying and thus imperiling walkers and tombstones alike.

The removal was possible through a matching grant from the Essex Heritage Foundation.
