Benefit Concert by Essex Ensemble

On AUGUST 27, 2022 from 6:00-8:00 PM, the ESSEX ENSEMBLE will perform a concert at the beautiful Maudslay Arts Center for the benefit of the Newbury Food Pantry's mission to end food insecurity in our area.

The Ensemble is directed by Andrew Price, a local resident and pantry volunteer. We are so blessed that these top-tier professional musicians from several of Boston's most highly regarded orchestras are donating their time and talent for our mission. In addition, the Maudslay Arts Center has generously contributed their lovely venue for our benefit concert. All of the proceeds from ticket sales will go directly to the purchase of food for the pantry.

The need for assistance with food from our all volunteer pantry has continued to grow this year. Our guest numbers continue to increase weekly due to higher food, housing, and energy costs. In the month of July 2022 we served 573 guests, 25 of whom were new to the pantry, and the majority of them were ordering weekly. Due to increased demand, The Greater Boston Food Bank has had to decrease the amounts of food available for purchase at reduced prices for pantries such as ours. Therefore, the concert proceeds will be used to purchase additional food locally to help fulfill the growing needs in our community.

We are so grateful to the musicians, Maudslay Arts Center, volunteers and supporters. There is still time to purchase tickets for this wonderful evening!

Maudslay Arts Center is situated within the lush landscape of Maudslay State Park at 95 Curzon Mill Rd, Newburyport. Patrons are encouraged to bring a picnic. There will be non-alcoholic beverages and desserts available. Reserved table seats are $50 per person in tables of three or four. Lawn tickets ( bring your own blanket or chair) are $30. Children under 12 are free. Whether you choose to sit at a patio table or on a blanket under the stars, every seat offers excellent acoustics.

Doors open at 5:30PM. Parking at Maudslay Arts Center is limited to drop off or vehicles with handicapped stickers. Regular parking is at the main Maudslay State Park lot which has free parking after 5:30 PM. Ushers will be on hand to direct you.
