Baked Apple Pudding

Butter a pudding dish and fill with quartered apples.

Place in oven while making a batter of one tablespoon butter, half cup sugar, one egg, half cup milk, one cup flour, one teaspoon baking powder.

Pour the batter over the apples and bake until brown.

Sauce:

Heat one pint milk in a double boiler then pour in two eggs beaten with half cup sugar and a little salt; flavor with vanilla.

Peaches, prunes or apricots may be used.
